Free to start. Supported by people who want it to keep going.
Discern's basic loop is free. The Experimenter subscription opens the wider library and community insight. One-time donations support the work and carry a permanent vote on what comes next.
One product. Two perspectives sit alongside each other inside it. The plans below open more of the same loop; they do not split it into two.

About voting
How votes work in Discern.
Anyone in the community can propose a practice or concept for the Library. Votes signal what the community would like to see reviewed and added next. Candid Maverick still does the editorial review on every entry, so a high-voted proposal becomes a queue position, not an automatic publish.
- Experimenter vote. While your subscription is active you can vote on open proposals. The vote pauses when the subscription does.
- Donor vote. A single donation grants a vote you keep, with no time limit and nothing to renew.
- Votes can stack, up to two per person per proposal. A Donor vote and an active Experimenter vote add together on the same proposal, a maximum of two from one person. Donation size does not change a vote's weight.

Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel an Experimenter subscription at any time from Settings inside the app (Settings, Billing, Manage subscription). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. Donations are one-time payments and are non-refundable except where required by law.
UK consumers have a 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The authoritative wording sits in our Terms of service.
